Your rings could use some extra love this summer. When traveling or out on a summer vacation, lotions and sunscreen are prone to finding their way into the crevices of your rings. When you are on the go and can’t make it in to us for a routine cleaning, we recommend three easy ways to protect and clean your rings and bring back that beloved sparkle. We'll share quick and effective cleaning solutions for your Sethi stacking rings and other jewelry items that you can easily do at home or on the go.
1. Protect Your Rings While Traveling
Ensure the longevity of your rings with this travel hack. Invest in a small, purpose-built pouch or travel case that provides individual slots or compartments to keep your rings separate: the goal is to prevent your jewelry items from scraping against each other. You can also reuse cloth jewelry pouches to safely store and keep rings separated.
2. Swim with Confidence
First, gather the right tools for cleaning. You will need dish soap, a soft brush, and a small bowl.
- Step 1: Add small amount of dish-washing soap to bowl
- Step 2: Add warm water to bowl
- Step 3: Add rings to bowl with warm, soapy water and allow to soak for 1 minute
- Step 4: Give rings a gentle brushing
- Step 5: Rinse and repeat as needed!
Make sure to rinse your rings thoroughly with clean, fresh water immediately after swimming. After rinsing your rings, dab off excess water, then allow the rings to air dry completely before wearing them again or storing them.
3. Make Your Rings Shine for Any Event
Last but not least, if you are looking to go the extra mile: utilize baking soda for a deep clean. Baking soda is mild enough to use on metals and diamonds. We recommend creating a solution using baking soda, warm water, and dish soap:
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 - 2 tsp (4.8 - 9.6 g) baking soda
- Squirt of dish soap
Soak your jewelry for 20 minutes in the solution. Then, scrub gently with a brush. Rinse your jewelry clean with running, cool water, making sure to remove all baking soda residue. Dab off excess water and allow the rings to air dry completely before wearing them again or storing them.
