Long before Sethi Couture existed, our story was shaped by two very different influences.
We grew up in our family's loose diamond business, where we learned to appreciate the extraordinary beauty of a diamond long before it ever became a piece of jewelry. We spent our childhood surrounded by gemstones, craftsmanship, and conversations about cut, color, clarity, and rarity. It taught us to see every diamond not simply as something valuable, but as something worthy of becoming an heirloom.
With our mother and grandmothers, we experienced them embracing jewelry as part of everyday life, rooted deeply in Indian culture. They adorned themselves with rings that represented the important chapters of their lives—a ring from their rokni (engagement), their wedding ring, a pure gold band gifted with the belief that every woman should have something of lasting value that was entirely her own. Every ring carried a memory. Every piece had a purpose. Their hands became a collection of their life's milestones rather than a perfectly matched set.
Looking back, we realize those women were stacking long before stacking became a trend.
They weren't wearing multiple rings because it was fashionable.
They wore them because each one represented a person they loved, a promise they had made, a milestone they had reached, or a chapter they never wanted to forget.
Growing up between those two worlds—an appreciation for exceptional diamonds and a culture where jewelry tells your story—became the foundation for everything we would one day create. We didn't start with the idea of stacking. We inherited the idea of collecting.
"Stacking" is a modern word. What your mother and grandmothers were doing wasn't following a trend—it was collecting memories through jewelry. Sethi Couture simply gave that tradition a modern expression through intricate bands designed to be layered.

Years later, before Sethi Couture was born, life presented us with our own milestone.
Prerna was leaving California for her first job in Ohio. It was exciting, but bittersweet. Like many sisters, we had never lived apart.
I wanted to give her something she could carry every day—a reminder of home, our family, and how proud we were of this next chapter.
So I designed a delicate pink diamond band.
It wasn't meant to be a statement piece.
It was meant to be a feeling.
A small reminder that wherever life took her, she was never far from home.
That ring became the first stacking band.
Neither of us realized it then, but it would become the beginning of Sethi Couture.
