72 Hours in Los Cabos: The Jewels I Took With Me

A nearby retreat

Los Cabos in Baja makes for nice getaway during the kids Fall and Thanksgiving break. We enjoy this destination largely in part to its proximity; just a 3 hour flight from San Francisco! We were ready to enjoy the perfect mix of culture, sun on the beach and food. Here is what we discovered.

Culture, Architecture and Design

The hospitality of Mexico is warm and inviting. The community of a vibrant language and vivid colors made us feel right at home. We especially loved the juxtaposition of traditional architecture with contemporary touches.

Sun on the beach

We stayed north west of Cabo San Lucas where the water is most safe for swimming. The bay of Santa Maria was a perfect spot where the area was protected and had some of the best snorkeling in the area. We had a special sunrise kayak excursion where we saw families of manta rays jumping out of the water. The sunrise was incredible and made for an experience to remember.

Food

Our vegetarian diet lends us to an adventure to find amazing food: Cabo did not disappoint! From a cooking class at Flora Farms making fresh ratatouille, pita breads and speciality drinks to a an open air farm to table restaurant El Huerto to Mezcal with international cuisine and stunning views of the ocean. Don Sanchez in San Jose with contemporary Mexican cuisine had a beautiful interior and unique vegetarian offerings.

The jewels I took with me

Traveling with jewelry is always challenging as you don’t want to take too much but want your pieces to be versatile for both day and night. My go-to for travel is any Sethi Stack, as I can combine the stacking rings in a number of combinations for each of my travel adventures. This time I packed my Petit Bubble White Diamond Band, Channel Black Diamond Band, Bezel White Diamond Band, Channel White Diamond Band, Darcy White Diamond Band, Prong White Diamond Band, and Hexagon White Diamond Band. I like to include variation between yellow and white gold to match the tones to my daily style.
